It's Football Game Day here at the house, and Florida is ready to take on the Vols from Tennessee.
Tennessee is having a down year (again) and we aren't sure what kind of year the Gators are having. (again) We lost our starting Quarterback last week at Kentucky. He is out for the season. So we are turning to a new kid who hasn't started a game since his Freshman year in High School
That being said, let's get a refreshing adult beverage and settle in for a noon time kick off.
Well, that turned out pretty well.
Football at Tennesee
Let's turn our attention to an early dinner. PIZZA on the grill.
Today, we will be using our Big Green Egg. We find that we can get it hotter than a gas grill and control the temperature better.
One of our 'first attempts'
But you can (and we have) use a Gas Grill with a Flat Top.
I think I need a bigger flat top
First, let's get our stuff together.
Pizza Dough, As you know, we are low carbing so Penny found some good low carb dough up in Gainesville.
Let's saute up some sausage. (when done, set aside)
And cut up some Peppers and Onions. Penny cut up some olives for hers.
I like FRESH mushrooms, so let's saute up about 8 ounces of White Mushrooms. Throw them in the pan wit a little splash of EVOO.
Don't forget the PEPPERONI !!!
Now for the CHEESE !!!!
You'll need the Parmesan.
.And LOTS of Mozzarella. (You can grate your own or use the packaged stuff.)
For the sauce, we like the RAO'S.
You will also need some EVOO and Garlic Salt
And a beer. (That's for me not the PIZZA)
Time to check in on our bonus game this week. UCF and Pittsburgh.
SAY WHAT ????
It would turn into the best game of the season. Pitt pulled off the upset 35-34.
Let's make some PIZZA.
On an upside down baking pan, set you dough on some FREEZER Paper. (DO NOT USE WAX PAPER)
CUT THE PAPER IN THE SIZE OF THE DOUGH
Add some EVOO
Using a spoon, spread the oil around
Add your sauce (I like ALOT)
Don't forget the Garlic Salt
Time for some Sausage
Onions
Green and Red Peppers
Mushrooms !!!!!
Add a good sprinkle of Parmesan
Looking GOOD !!!
Here comes the shredded Mozzarella
And the Pepperoni
Wow, doesn't that look good ??
Get your grill up around 500 degrees and carefully place the Pizza on the grill. (Use a PIZZA STONE)
Leave the paper on the bottom and cook for 3 minutes.
After three minutes use a pair of tongs to remove the paper.
Cook for another three minutes
USE YOUR TIMER !!
When done, CAREFULLY slide the Pizza back on the upside down baking pan
We're ready !!!!
Place on a cutting board and cut to size
Enjoy with a refreshing adult beverage
Make enough for leftovers !!!!!
Now we can play with the President
I guess not.....
So give Pizza a try on a good grill. Ours was great !!!!!! It went well with some great football on a beautiful Florida Day.
Live Long and Prosper
